Grocery shopping seems like a harmless enough activity. It
’s a chore, but it’s one that most of us do at least once a week, without giving much thought to what’s going on behind the scenes at the supermarket.
Summary:
- Shopping carts are awfully dirty
- Don’t rely on product’s expiration date (only the ones on baby’s formula is trustable)
- Cut food can be twice as expensive as uncut ones
- Food company pays stores to put their product at end aisle because it has 30% higher chance of being purchased
- Bargains are sometimes not real bargains ie. buy 2 get 1 free which makes you buy more than you need. Or Buy up to 5 items and you would really buy the max you can buy.
- salad bars are not as clean as you think
